History and culture buffs--and lovers of opulence--are in for a treat as the Virtually Versailles exhibition opened in Hong Kong on Wednesday for the 30th anniversary of the French May Arts Festival.
With the innovative designs, multi-media and interactive installations of this immersive exhibition, visitors can get a virtual foretaste of the splendor of the Palace of Versailles, one of the most prestigious World Heritage Sites and popular tourist attractions in the world.
Built by Louis XIV, Versailles epitomized the grandeur of the Sun King and the exhibition, which runs until July 9 at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum in Sha Tin, will let visitors have an interactive, smell and sound immersion, with 360-degree digital projections of some of the Palace's most iconic and historic halls, including the famed Hall of Mirrors.
