India, Philippines to strengthen cooperation in various areas

NEW DELHI - Foreign Minister of India S. Jaishankar and Secretary for Foreign Affairs of the Philippines Enrique Manalo on Thursday decided to further strengthen bilateral partnership in such areas as maritime, space, law enforcement, trade and investment.

Manalo is on an official visit to India from June 27-30. The two foreign ministers co-chaired the 5th meeting of the Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation in New Delhi on Thursday.

The two sides stressed the need to expand tourism cooperation and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

In addition, India and the Philippines will strengthen cooperation in the agricultural sector.
