Man Kam To Port will resume customs clearance services for coaches, hire cars and private cars traveling from the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region to Shenzhen from 7am on July 19, the Port Office of the People’s Government in Shenzhen said on Tuesday.
The checkpoint is one of the major land ports for cross-boundary students and vegetables and fresh foods supplied to the SAR. Due to ground subsidence, it had suspended customs clearance services for vehicles transporting passengers and goods from Hong Kong to Shenzhen since July 9.
The roof of the checkpoint’s guard kiosks had twisted due to the subsidence, with cracks visible from outside. The area had been closed off for repairs and cranes were brought in to help.
