BANGKOK - Chinese Super League side Zhejiang FC lost 4-1 to Thailand's Buriram United in the opening group match of the 2023-2024 AFC Champions League on Wednesday.
A pinpoint cross from the left unlocked the Chinese club's defense after 17 minutes, and it was met by a diving Lonsana Doumbouya header into the bottom corner to open Buriram United's scoring account.
It took five minutes for the Thai side to double their lead from the penalty spot before Buriram United converted a corner to establish a 3-0 lead in the first half.

Zhejiang responded in added time of the first half when Leonardo was fouled inside the box, and the Brazilian made no mistake from the spot.
However, Buriram United scored the fourth goal with a well-taken strike in the second half.

Zhejiang FC will host Melbourne City in their next game while Buriram United travels to Japan to face Ventforet Kofu in Tokyo.
