ABU DHABI – China Daily and the Emirates News Agency (WAM) in the United Arab Emirates signed a memorandum of understanding on Tuesday, with an aim to facilitate exchange and people-to-people understanding between China and the Arab country.
The MoU signing ceremony took place during the 2nd Global Media Congress 2023 in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Attending the ceremony, Zhou Li, deputy editor-in-chief of China Daily Group, publisher and editor-in-chief of China Daily Asia Pacific, hailed the MoU as an important milestone in establishing news exchange and promoting mutual understanding between the two countries.

Mohammed Jalal Al Rayssi, director-general of the WAM and chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee for the Global Media Congress, said both sides could cooperate on a number of areas and do coverage together in the future.

Themed “Shaping the Future of the Media Industry”, the congress, running from Tuesday to Thursday, had attracted government officials, media representatives, businesspeople and scholars from over 172 countries and regions to connect with global thought leaders, learn about the latest trends in the media industry and collaborate on new ideas.
