Afghanistan stresses positive ties with world community

KABUL - Afghan caretaker government's Acting Minister for Foreign Affairs Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi has emphasized Afghanistan's positive engagement and good relations with different nations.

"We are calling upon the world community, upon all countries, far-flanged countries to have positive relations with Afghanistan," Muttaqi told reporters at a press conference after the conclusion of a regional conference on Afghanistan on Monday evening.

The conference titled "Afghanistan's Regional Cooperation Initiative" was hosted by the Afghan caretaker government.

All the participants stressed that a peaceful and progressive Afghanistan is in the interest of the region, Muttaqi said.

All the participants in the conference have underscored the role of Afghanistan in linking Central Asia to South Asia, Muttaqi said, adding that participants agreed to be cooperative in implementing major development projects.
