SYDNEY - Serbia will face Spain in the inaugural ATP Cup final in Australia on Sunday, setting the stage for a championship matchup between the World's top two players, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic.

Spain toppled the Australians in front of a home crowd in Sydney on Saturday evening, winning both singles matches of the semi-finals tie to progress.

Earlier in the day, Serbia beat Russia to also earn a ticket to the final, making it likely that Nadal and Djokovic will meet on court to continue their long standing rivalry.

"It's gonna be a tough match for me of course, he's been playing some great matches this week, but I finished with positive energy tonight," Nadal told reporters after the match.

Nadal and the Spanish put an end to a promising run by the Aussies, who as a mostly younger team handled the pressure well.

Despite high hopes for hometown hero Nick Kyrgios, the local went down, 6-1 6-4, to a powerful Roberto Bautista Agut.

Initially, teammate Alex de Minaur looked like playing the role of redeemer, beating Nadal in the first set of their match.

However, despite an enthusiastic home crowd, the youngster dropped the second set, allowing Nadal to take control of the third and cement Spain's place in Sunday evening's final.
