HONG KONG - Around 200 Hong Kong residents were flown home from Hubei province on two government-chartered flights on Thursday.

The first flight landed at Chek Lap Kok International Airport at around 4:30 pm while the second at around 9 pm.
All passengers aboard were sent to the Chun Yeung Estate quarantine facilities in Fo Tan for a two-week mandatory quarantine.

Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Patrick Nip Tak-kuen, who led the evacuation operation, thanked colleagues from the Department of Health and the Hospital Authority for their on-site assistance to pregnant women and other people with serious illness.

The first batch of 244 Hong Kong residents were flown back home on Wednesday on two government-chartered flights. They were also sent to Chun Yeung Estate for quarantine upon landing.
