Six people at Wu Lei's Espanyol test positive for Covid-19

BARCELONA - Spanish Liga Santander club, RCD Espanyol have confirmed that six members of the club staff have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Espanyol is not the only club in Spain to be affected with the virus, with several players at Valencia also affected by Covid-19

The club, which is the home of Chinese international Wu Lei, posted a communique on its website explaining that "six members of the first team squad and technical staff have tested positive in tests for Covid-19."

The club did not however, reveal the names of the people who have been infected due to questions of right of information, but said that everyone who had Covid-19 was showing "slight symptoms and is following medical recommendations."

Espanyol is not the only club in Spain to be affected with the virus, with several players at Valencia also affected by Covid-19.

Last Thursday saw the Liga Santander suspend all activity, while Espanyol decided on Friday to suspend all of its activities including first team training sessions, although several players, including Wi Lei have used the club website to send out messages of support to fans as Spain goes into its fourth day under a State of Alarm, which has restricted freedom of movement, with most people confined to their homes.
