JERUSALEM - Team Israel Start-Up Nation (ISN) announced Thursday that four-time Tour de France winner Chris Froome will join and lead the Israeli team, starting next season.
Chris Froome won the Tour de France in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017, as well as the Giro d'Italia in 2018
According to ISN, the 35-year-old British cycling star will sign a long-term contract on August 1, that will see him wear ISN's blue and white until the end of his career.
Israeli media report that Froome will earn around 5 million euros per season.
Since 2010, Froome has competed for Britain's Team Sky, currently known as Team Ineos.
Froome won the Tour de France in 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017, as well as the Giro d'Italia in 2018.

"This is a historic moment for ISN, Israel, Israeli sports, our many fans all around the world and for me personally, a moment of enormous pride", said the team's co-owner Sylvan Adams.
He added that "Chris is the best rider of his generation. We hope to make history together, winning the Tour de France".
Froome commented: "I'm really excited to be joining the ISN family. I look forward to challenging and being challenged by their talent and continuing to strive for the success that I've enjoyed up to now. I feel we can achieve great things together".
ISN was founded in 2014 to elevate and popularize the sport of cycling in Israel and other emerging cycling countries and regions.
In a short period, it has grown from a modest continental-level team to a World Tour team.
