Shandong took the lead initially, but Moore netted 12 points to lead Guangzhou from behind with 30-19 after the first quarter. Shandong struggled to cut the deficit and retook the lead with 51-47 at halftime.

Manny Harris of Shandong notched a game-high 36 points, seven rebounds and five assists, while Moore grabbed a team-high 30 points and 10 assists for Guangzhou.

Nine Guangzhou players had points while six did the same in Shandong.

"We have only one overseas player and took fewer rebounds. But I will give more chances to young players in the coming games," said Shandong head coach Gong Xiaobin.

"The key to our win is rebounds and a speedy transition in offense and defense. However, we still need to reduce the turnovers as we had 23 in this game," said Guangzhou head coach Guo Shiqiang.
