HONG KONG - Hong Kong reported seven new coronavirus infections on Friday, including one local case with an unknown origin, bringing the city’s overall tally to 5,320.

The sole local case involved a 44-year-old man who lived in North Point and worked at Shun Tak Centre in Sheung Wan, said Chuang Shuk-kwan, head of the communicable disease branch of the Centre for Health Protection, at a press breifing Friday.

The patient went hiking at Mount Parker and played badminton without wearing a face mask during the incubation period, Chuang said. His companions were therefore considered as close contacts and would be quarantined, said Chuang.
Among the six imported cases, three were from India, two from Pakistan and one from the Philippines, Chuang said.
According to the Hospital Authority, 97 patients are being treated in hospitals, including nine in critical condition.

The government has announced to relax some social distancing measures effective Friday as the seven-day average number of local cases continued to decline since mid-October. Local restaurants and bars are allowed to provide dine-in services till 2 am and seat a maximum of six customers per table.
