CPVCC meeting to discuss key personnel for next tenure

HANOI - The 14th session of the 12th Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (CPVCC) opened here on Monday under the chair of CPVCC General Secretary and Vietnamese President Nguyen Phu Trong, Vietnam News Agency reported.

Participants are scheduled to discuss the summary of ideas contributed by party congresses at all levels, the top legislature National Assembly, socio-political organizations, officials, party members and people nationwide concerning the draft documents for the upcoming 13th National Congress of the CPV, before approving changes to the drafts.

Participants will introduce candidates to the 13th CPVCC's Political Bureau and Secretariat, and finalize the draft election regulations and working rules of the 13th national congress, along with other important matters

Addressing the event, Trong asked members of the CPVCC to carefully discuss the report on the summary of opinions to the draft documents and give their ideas on potential supplementation and adjustments to them.

Trong also stressed the importance of personnel work at the session, noting that on Nov 20, a personnel plan for the 13th CPVCC's Political Bureau and Secretariat was approved. The plan will be submitted to the CPVCC at this session for discussion and voting, he said.

The session is scheduled to conclude on Sunday, according to the news agency.
