BEIJING - Chinese President Xi Jinping on Tuesday sent a message to Sadyr Japarov to congratulate him on his election as Kyrgyz president.
Since China and Kyrgyzstan established diplomatic relations 29 years ago, the development of bilateral ties has witnessed remarkable achievements, Xi said in the message.
President Xi Jinping said in a mesage that he stands ready to work together newly elected Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to take full advantage of the opportunity of jointly building the Belt and Road, and deepen bilateral mutually-beneficial cooperation
Stressing that he attaches great importance to the development of the China-Kyrgyzstan comprehensive strategic partnership, Xi said he stands ready to work together with Japarov to take full advantage of the opportunity of jointly building the Belt and Road, and deepen bilateral mutually-beneficial cooperation, so as to benefit both countries and their people.

Also on Tuesday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zhao Lijian expressed China's willingness to continue to deepen mutually beneficial cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.
Zhao made the remarks after the Kyrgyz Central Election Commission announced that Japarov has secured a landmark victory in the election based on preliminary results.

"It is believed that the new government of Kyrgyzstan will lead the Kyrgyz people to make greater achievements in the process of national construction," Zhao said.
Noting that China and Kyrgyzstan are friendly neighbors and cordial exchanges between the two peoples have a long history, Zhao said that China is willing to work with Kyrgyzstan to continue to advance mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, consolidate their traditional friendship, and continuously enrich the content of their comprehensive strategic partnership for the benefit of both countries and peoples.
