LONDON - Manchester City cruised to the top of the Premier League on Tuesday night with a 5-0 win away to West Brom, who remain second from bottom with just two league wins all season.
Riyad Mahrez added a fourth goal on the stroke of half-time before setting up Raheem Sterling for City's fifth of the night with 33 minutes remaining
The gulf in class between the two sides was made obvious by Ilkay Gundogen's sixth-minute strike from outside the penalty area, and the game was over by the half-hour after Joao Cancelo and Gundogen had made the score 3-0.

Stuart Armstrong opened the scoring for Southampton in the third minute, but Mikel Arteta's side hit back with goals from Nicolas Pepe after eight minutes, Bukayo Saka six minutes before the break and Alexandre Lacazette, who sealed the win 20 minutes from time to continue his side's recovery in the league.
West Ham's impressive season continued with a 3-2 win away to Crystal Palace, thanks to two goals from Tomas Soucek in the ninth and 25th minutes to overturn Wilfred Zaha's third minute opener for the home side.
Craig Dawson made it 3-1 with 25 minutes left to play and Michy Batshuayi's late goal for Palace was nothing more than a consolation.
Newcastle United's problems deepened after a 2-1 defeat at home to Leeds United. Although Miguel Almiron canceled out Raphinha's first-half opener in the 57th minute, Jack Harrison's goal four minutes later ensured the three points travel back to Yorkshire, leaving Newcastle looking over their shoulders at the relegation zone.
