Xi congratulates Museveni on re-election as Ugandan president

BEIJING - Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday sent a congratulatory message to Yoweri Museveni on his re-election as president of Uganda.

President Xi Jinping noted ever since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, the two countries have helped and supported each other, writing a chapter of solidarity against the pandemic

In the message, Xi said China and Uganda enjoy traditional friendship, have always supported and trusted each other, and achieved fruitful results in bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Ever since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, the two countries have helped and supported each other, writing a chapter of solidarity against the pandemic, Xi noted.

Xi said he attaches great importance to the development of bilateral ties, and stands ready to work with Museveni to make the China-Uganda comprehensive cooperative partnership deliver new outcomes, so as to better benefit the two countries and peoples.
