DAMASCUS - The Syrian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday demanded compensation from the United States for the "damage" caused by the US actions in Syria, according to the state news agency SANA.

The ministry demanded compensation for the "heavy damage and heavy losses inflicted by the US aggression and occupation against the Syrian people."

It further said that Syria holds the US administration responsible for "its criminal policies against the Syrian people."

The ministry described the US practices in Syria as "a behavior outside international law that deserves condemnation and accountability by the international community."
