BEIJING - Olympic figure skating runners-up Sui Wenjing and Han Cong will take part in the second and third events of the 2021-2022 Grand Prix of Figure Skating Series, confirmed the Chinese Figure Skating Association on Wednesday.
Sui/Han will start their Grand Prix Series at Skate Canada in Vancouver from Oct 29 to 31 and then go back to participate in the Cup of China in Chongqing from Nov 5 to 7. Sui/Han took a silver medal at the Stockholm Worlds in March.

Peng Cheng and Jin Yang will also take part in two events of the Series, Cup of China and Internationaux de France. China's young pair Wang Yuchen and Huang Yihang will make their senior Grand Prix debut in France.

Jin Boyang, who lost his form at the World Championships and only finished 22nd, will try to prove himself at the Cup of China. Ice dance pair Wang Shiyue and Liu Xinyu will participate in the Cup of China and the NHK Trophy in Japan.
According to athlete selections announced by the International Skating Union, twice Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu will gear up to defend his title at the Beijing Games when he begins his Grand Prix season in NHK Trophy in November. He will also take part in the Rostelecom Cup in Russia later the same month.

Hanyu finished third at the Stockholm Worlds in March behind winner Nathan Chen of the United States. Chen will begin his Grand Prix season at Skate America in October.
