Chief secretary leads delegation to Shenzhen for virus meet

HONG KONG - Hong Kong Chief Secretary for Administration John Lee Ka-chiu led a government delegation to Shenzhen on Friday to attend the second thematic meeting between mainland and Hong Kong officials on the COVID-19 pandemic scheduled for Saturday.

The delegation includes Secretary for Transport and Housing Frank Chan Fan; Secretary for Food and Health Sophia Chan Siu-chee; Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Erick Tsang Kwok-wai; and Secretary for Security Chris Tang Ping-keung.

Also on the delegation are representatives of the Department of Health, the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department, the Home Affairs Department and other related departments.

According to the government, the delegation will exchange views on the current pandemic situation in Hong Kong with representatives and experts of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, the National Health Commission, the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau, the People's Government of Guangdong province and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government.

They will also discuss the mainland's support measures for Hong Kong's fight against the virus, the assurance of the supply of goods to the city and other issues, the government added.
