SHENYANG - Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, on Tuesday inspected the city of Jinzhou, northeast China's Liaoning province.

Xi visited the Liaoshen Campaign Memorial and a forest park in Jinzhou, looking back into the history of the liberation of northeast China and the Liaoshen Campaign, one of the major campaigns during the War of Liberation more than seven decades ago.

Xi expressed full confidence in the revitalization of China's northeast region

He was also briefed about the province's efforts of flood control and ecological restoration and conservation, and made instructions on how to improve flood control work and sharpen the capacity to prevent natural disasters. 

Xi  demanded that local authorities in Liaoning ensure the safety of people's lives in flood control.

He asked Party committees and governments at all levels to take solid flood control and relief measures, make appropriate arrangements for those affected by floods and ensure their safety.

Authorities must devise proper plans for post-disaster recovery and reconstruction to help people restore their production and life as soon as possible, he said. 

He also expressed full confidence in the revitalization of China's northeast region.

Xi said that Chinese-style modernization is modernization featuring common prosperity and happiness for all, not just a few.

He called for continued efforts to carry out the northeast revitalization strategy, accelerate industrial restructuring, and meet the requirements of reform and development in the new era.

"We have full confidence in the revitalization of the northeast region," Xi said.
