LONDON - Manchester United has reached an agreement with Ajax on the transfer of Brazilian Winger Antony to the Premier League club on Tuesday.

According to Ajax's statement, the two clubs have agreed on a transfer fee of a Dutch-record 95 million euros. Including add-ons, the fee could rise to 100 million, easily breaking the former record (about 75 million) set by Frenkie de Jong's move from Ajax to Barcelona.

Antony will be reunited with coach Erik ten Hag and defender Lisandro Martinez, who both moved to Old Trafford from Ajax in the summer.

The Brazilian has scored 31 goals and given 27 assists for Ajax and his previous club Sao Paulo, and has also made nine appearances for the Brazil national team, as well as winning an Olympic gold medal in Tokyo 2020.

His arrival comes less than a week after Manchester United signed Brazilian international midfielder Casemiro, while the club is reported to be working on a loan deal for Newcastle United goalkeeper Martin Dubravka.

Although Manchester United's next game is against Leicester City on Thursday, Antony is unlikely to have his work permit in order to make his debut and will probably have to wait until Sunday when the United host league leaders Arsenal.
