China calls for early end to armed conflicts in Sudan

BEIJING - China calls on the two parties to the conflict in Sudan to end fighting as soon as possible and prevent the escalation of tensions,a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson said on Sunday.

A spokesperson made the remarks in response to a query on fierce armed clashes erupted on April 15 local time between the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces in Khartoum and elsewhere in the country.

China is closely following the latest developments of the situation in Sudan, the spokesperson said.

China hopes parties in Sudan will increase dialogue and jointly move forward the political transition process, said the spokesperson.
