Constituency maps revealed for HK's District Council polls

HONG KONG – The Electoral Affairs Commission of Hong Kong has published the maps and detailed descriptions of the geographical constituencies for the 2023 District Council Ordinary Election on its website.

The seventh-term District Councils will have 470 seats, comprising 179 appointed members, 176 District Committee constituency members, 88 District Council geographical constituency members and 27 ex-officio members, the government said in a statement on Tuesday.

The District Councils (Amendment) Ordinance 2023, which the Legislative Council passed on July 6, came into effect on Monday, with the delineations of the geographical constituencies coming into effect simultaneously.

In accordance with the amended ordinance, the boundaries of the existing 18 districts remain unchanged.

There are 44 geographical constituencies in the 18 districts. Two members will be returned for each District Council geographical constituency (DGCC), resulting in a total of 88 DCGC members to be returned.
