BEIJING - The Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee held a meeting on Thursday to study and arrange work on flood prevention and relief as well as post-disaster restoration and reconstruction.

Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, presided over the meeting and delivered an important speech.
