Vietnam, Singapore eye comprehensive strategic partnership

HANOI - Leaders of Vietnam and Singapore have agreed to consider the possibility of upgrading the bilateral ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership in the future.

The agreement was reached by Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong here during a three-day visit of Singapore's prime minister, which wrapped up on Tuesday.

The two leaders underlined the importance of effective implementation of the digital economy-green economy partnership established in 2023 and the revised Vietnam-Singapore economic connectivity agreement

During the talks, the two prime ministers agreed to continue promoting cooperation in key areas like trade, investment, education and training, finance-banking, and tourism, Vietnam News Agency reported.

The two leaders underlined the importance of effective implementation of the digital economy-green economy partnership established in 2023 and the revised Vietnam-Singapore economic connectivity agreement.

After their meeting, the two leaders witnessed the signing of new deals on sustainable infrastructure, skills development, and the exchange of innovation talent, the news agency reported.
