Shenzhen in Guangdong province, and Hong Kong Special Administrative Region jointly presented drone shows for the first time on Saturday when about 1,200 drones in each city lit up the night sky over Victoria Harbour in Hong Kong and OCT Harbour in Shenzhen to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holidays.

The brilliance of high-tech fireworks complemented the dramatic Hong Kong and Shenzhen skylines. First, the drones transformed into blooming osmanthus flowers, spreading best wishes for family reunions under a full moon; and then they “sketched a picture” of the Chinese myth of “Chang’e Flies to the Moon”.

In the blink of an eye, the electric firebugs in the sky changed to the Tian’anmen Rostrum, adorned with large red lanterns, landmarks in Hong Kong and Shenzhen, and the map of China blossomed with flowers... The performance reached its climax against the backdrop of a flourishing era and world peace, wishing for a great nation, a beautiful Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and the flourishing of Hong Kong. What a spectacular feast for the eyes!
