NANCHANG — Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, has called for further promoting the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt to better support and serve Chinese modernization.

Xi, also Chinese president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks at a symposium he chaired on advancing the development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt here Thursday.
