BISHKEK — Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said Thursday that it was a shared priority for Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) members to build resilience amid global challenges.
The SCO must reliably protect citizens and businesses from increasing competition and turbulence, tightening protectionist measures and illegal sanctions that have led to a disruption of the supply chains around the world, Mishustin said in his speech at the 22nd Meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO Member States.

"We will be able to tackle this together. The progressive growth in mutual trade volumes is direct evidence of this," Mishustin noted.
He added that members need to deepen cooperation in the fuel and energy sector, particularly amid energy price volatility.
The Russian prime minister also proposed the establishment of an independent regional payment and settlement mechanism for SCO members.
