A celebratory luncheon was held on Thursday to mark the 25th anniversary of the founding of the Legislative Council (LegCo) of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

Around 90 lawmakers and senior government officials, including Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu and President of the LegCo Andrew Leung Kwan-yuen, attended the event at the LegCo Complex in Central.

The law-making body of the SAR was first established in 1998, a year after the city’s return to the motherland.
