PLA tracks US aircraft as it flies over Taiwan Strait

The People's Liberation Army tracked and monitored a United States military aircraft that flew over the Taiwan Strait on Wednesday, a spokesperson said.

Shi Yi, spokesperson for the PLA's Eastern Theater Command, said that on Wednesday, a US P-8A anti-submarine patrol aircraft transited the Taiwan Strait and hyped up the passage publicly.

He said that the theater command organized air forces to track and monitor the aircraft's passage, handling the situation in accordance with laws and regulations.

Shi emphasized that the theater command's forces would remain on high alert, resolutely defend national sovereignty and security, and ensure regional peace and stability.
