Minister: China committed to high-quality growth, opening-up

China remains resolute in advancing high-quality growth and high-level opening-up, delivering enhanced services for global companies, said China's Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao.

During his meeting with Brad Smith, president of the US technology company Microsoft Corp, in Beijing on Wednesday, Wang said China welcomes multinational companies, including Microsoft, to expand their presence in China and achieve mutually beneficial development.

Microsoft is willing to actively participate in China's economic digital transformation and continue its commitment to promoting pragmatic economic and trade cooperation

"We hope that Microsoft, leveraging its own strengths, will play a constructive role in the exchange and cooperation in areas such as artificial intelligence, thereby contributing to the stable and healthy development of bilateral economic and trade relations," said Wang.

Smith said over the past three decades of its development in China, Microsoft has consistently strengthened its connections with the Chinese market.
