Automakers in S. Korea to recall 28,000 cars for faulty parts

SEOUL - Four domestic and foreign automakers in South Korea will voluntarily recall some 28,000 vehicles for manufacturing defects, the transport ministry said Wednesday.

Kia Corp will recall 10,069 units of Stinger sports car model for a faulty component in the high-pressure fuel pump, according to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

Vehicle owners can visit repair and service centers to replace the faulty parts free of charge

Tesla Korea will recall 9,914 units of Model 3 due to a defective component in the inverter system.

Mercedes-Benz Korea will recall 2,060 units of three different models, including GLE 350e 4MATIC, for software error in the vehicle stability control device along with 4,815 units of seven models, including S450 4MATIC, to fix a faulty part in the fuel pump.

BMW Korea will repair a software error in the audio system in 1,587 units of two different models including i5 eDrive40.
