Guangzhou’s Beijing Road Pedestrian Street (北京路步行街) is the scene of a Mid-Autumn Festival garden party themed around traditional culture, which is aimed at attracting visitors while showcasing the historical charm of the area.
Titled Guangfu Yuehuameng (广府越华梦), the festivities feature an interactive game inspired by the classic board game Monopoly. Participants take on the role of merchants, making investments in the area with the goal of turning a profit.

Traditional fun activities from ancient China are being revived, including cuju (蹴鞠), a historical football game, and pitch pot (投壶), where players aim to throw arrows into a pot.
The pedestrian street is lined with traditional-style stalls offering a variety of snacks and handicrafts. Daily performances featuring bamboo flutes, guzheng (古筝, Chinese zither), and classic Chinese dances will continue until the garden party concludes on September 15.
According to the administration committee of the pedestrian street, nearly 60 such events have been held at this key tourist attraction in Guangzhou from January to August. Foot traffic during this period reached 89.51 million visits, marking a 19.6 percent increase compared to the same time last year.
