BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed mixed on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.58 percent to 3,211.39 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.32 percent higher at 9,976 points.
The combined turnover covered by these two indices stood at 1.11 trillion yuan (about $154.7 billion) -- down from 1.26 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Stocks in the humanoid robot sector were among the biggest gainers, while those related to ports, oil and gas suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.11 percent to close at 2,010.66 points Thursday.
