Chinese carmaker BYD India has unveiled its electric utility vehicle Sealion 7 in India and will launch two variants in March, according to BYD India.
The company debuted the new vehicle on Saturday at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi as the carmaker aims to expand its market share in India's emerging market.
It has started accepting promotional bookings, which include a 7-year warranty, free home charger installation, and other benefits. The company officials will reveal its price later. As part of the promotional offer, the BYD Sealion 7 can now be booked across the country, with special offers available until Feb 17, 2025.

“It gives a range of 1,092 km with full charge and full tank,” said Rajeev Chauhan, head of electric passenger vehicle business at BYD India. The carmaker is set to expand its dealership network to 40 within Jan this year and have decided to expand the network throughout the country this year.
BYD India will offer the Sealion 7 with an 82.5 kWh LFP blade battery pack. The car has been launched with two variants, Premium and Performance, both equipped with the 82.5 kWh battery pack. The Premium variant features rear-wheel drive, generating 313bhp and 380Nm, while the Performance variant offers all-wheel drive, delivering 530bhp and 690Nm.
The Premium and Performance variant of the BYD Sealion can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in 6.7 and 4.5 seconds, respectively. Performance variant offers a range of 542 kms and the Premium variant can go 567 kms on a full -single charge, the company said.
The BYD Sealion 7 comes equipped with LED headlamps featuring integrated LED DRLs, a roof spoiler, and flared wheel arches. Inside, it boasts a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, and two-zone automatic climate control. In addition, the vehicle has a 12-speaker music system, a panoramic sunroof, dynamic tail lamps and a heads-up display.
With a spacious interior the BYD SEALION 7 measures 4,830 mm in length and 2,930 mm of wheelbase. The SUV comes in four colors: Cosmos Black, Atlantis Grey, Aurora White, and Shark Grey.
BYD India also showcased the Sealion 6 and the Yangwang U8 at the event. The Sealion 6 is a plug-in hybrid SUV, while the Yangwang features advanced technology such as the e4 platform, which allows independent wheel torque regulation for precise control.

The carmaker now offers four products in India, including BYD Seal, E Max 7, and two variants of Atto3.
To ensure passengers’ protection, the vehicle is fitted with a 360-degree camera, nine airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), ISOFIX mounts for child safety, and Level-2 ADAS features.
BYD India was founded in March 2007 in Chennai, a southeastern coastal city of India and currently has over 3000 employees. The Indian subsidiary has two factories, covering more than 140,000 sq. m, with an investment exceeding $200 million.
