HKSAR govt principal officials share Spring Festival blessings

Principal officials of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government on Sunday continued with their year-end caring visits to grassroots families in the city’s 18 districts to learn about their living conditions and distribute blessing bags in celebration of the Chinese New Year.

Deputy Chief Secretary for Administration Cheuk Wing-hing, together with Yau Tsim Mong district officials, visited an elderly singleton and a family that just arrived in the city in Tai Kok Tsui to share the festive joy.

Deputy Secretary for Justice Cheung Kwok-kwan and Sha Tin district officials talked with grassroots families, an elderly couple and an elderly singleton living in Shui Chuen O Estate in Sha Tin, to learn about their needs.

On the other hand, Secretary for Development Bernadette Linn Hon-ho and Kwai Tsing district officials visited singleton elderly people in Kwai Fong Estate, while Secretary for Home and Youth Affairs Alice Mak Mei-Kuen visited an elderly singleton and a person with disabilities living in Tin King Estate in Tuen Mun.

On Saturday, Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu and Mak visited singleton elderly households living in Oi Man Estate in Kowloon City.

Lee and Mak presented them with Chinese New Year blessing bags and wished them a healthy and happy Year of the Snake.

The other principal officials who made visits in Saturday included Financial Secretary Paul Chan Mo-po, who visited an elderly family and an ethnic minority family in Yau Tsim Mong; Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Christopher Hui Ching-yu, who talked with grassroots families and elderly people living in Yat Tung (l) Estate; and Secretary for Health Lo Chung-mau, who visited Wa Fuh Estate in the Southern District.

The principal officials will continue to visit different families during the coming two days to extend care and blessings, and bring festive joy to the public.
