China's market share of car sales in the global market hit a record high of 41 percent in December last year, said Cui Dongshu, secretary-general of the China Passenger Car Association on Sunday.

China's share of global car sales continues to grow in 2024, driven by a recovering domestic auto market and high export volumes.

The car market has been experiencing strong growth since August, further solidifying China's position.

Domestic enterprises are seeing an overall upward momentum in global market share, with manufacturers such as BYD, Chery Auto, Changan Automobile and Geely performing particularly well.

China's automobile market has a huge influence on the global automobile market. Cui points out that the increase in market share in 2024 reflects the effect of policy stimulus.
