Putin, Saudi crown prince discuss ties, US-Russia talks

RIYADH - Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman held a phone call on Thursday with Russian President Vladimir Putin on bilateral ties and the recent US-Russia talks, the Saudi Press Agency reported.

During the phone conversation, Putin thanked Saudi Arabia for hosting the talks.

For his part, the Saudi crown prince stressed the kingdom's commitment to making all possible efforts to enhance security and peace in the world, believing that dialogue is the only way to resolve all international crises.

The two sides also praised the depth of bilateral ties and expressed their keenness to develop relations in various fields.

The report provided no further details about the phone call.

Meanwhile, according to the Kremlin, Putin, during the phone talks, also said the two countries will continue to work within the OPEC+ framework to maintain stability in the global oil market.

Senior US and Russian officials held a meeting on Tuesday in the Saudi capital Riyadh to address the Ukraine crisis, in the first face-to-face interactions between the United States and Russia since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict in February 2022.
