BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed higher on Wednesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.53 percent to 3,341.96 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.28 percent higher at 10,709.46 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at about 1.49 trillion yuan (about $207.77 billion), up from 1.48 trillion yuan the previous trading day.
Stocks in the construction machinery and humanoid robot sectors led the gains, while those in photovoltaic equipment and real estate industries suffered significant losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.01 percent to close at 2,190.36 points Wednesday.
