HONG KONG – LIV Golf 2025, the most lucrative international golf event in Hong Kong's history, kicks off on Friday at the Hong Kong Golf Club. The three-day event features not only top-level matches, but also live music and fan activities suitable for all ages.
Fifty-four top players are competing, including American professional golfer Bryson DeChambeau and Spanish Jon Rahm, the winner of the LIV Golf 2024 season.
South Korean DJ and record producer Peggy Gou, who boasts over 4.2 million followers on Instagram, will take the stage as a guest performer on Saturday.
Signature HK art fest
More than 1,300 international and local artists are gathering in Hong Kong for the 53rd Hong Kong Arts Festival, a one-month art feast, which, starting on Feb 28, runs through Mar 29.
The festival is set to present the public with over 125 performances across more than 45 programs, along with approximately 350 additional outreach and education events.
With “fantasy” and “adventure” as key themes, this year’s festival offers some programs utilizing virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) technologies, like VR Interactive Dance — Le Bal de Paris de Blanca Li.
While enjoying the program, viewers will be invited to “attend” the grandest ball in Paris and “dance” in a fantasy world with digital neon dresses.
Tech forum to drive innovation
The 5th annual Technology for Change Asia, set to begin on Mar 12 at the Hopewell Hotel Hong Kong, brings together 70 policymakers, business leaders and scholars from across the world to share their insights on how the power of cutting-edge technology drives Asia’s business and social progress.
One major topic of discussion at the two-day event will be artificial intelligence, covering areas such as the future of work in the age of AI, robotics and automation, and humanizing ethical AI.
Attendees will also explore future investment opportunities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Other topics include addressing food security through agritech and how fintech innovations can empower small businesses and individuals in Asia.
Promoting sports industry
The 2025 Shenzhen Guangming International Tennis Open, authorized by the International Tennis Federation, will begin on Mar 8 at the Guangming district Mass Sports Center.
Consisting of the ITF Women’s World Tennis Tour W50 Shenzhen and the ITF Men’s World Tennis Tour M25 Shenzhen, the two-week competition is expected to attract elite tennis players from around the world and popularize tennis in Shenzhen and the wider Guangdong province.
