MANILA - The Philippines' Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Wednesday said the country brought home 176 alleged Filipino human trafficking victims (HTVs) from illegal scam centers in Myawaddy, Myanmar.

The DFA said in its press release that the latest batch of rescued Filipinos returned to the Philippines on Wednesday morning on a special flight from Bangkok, Thailand.

On Tuesday, the DFA also led the repatriation of 30 Filipino HTVs from Myanmar via Thailand.

"The successful repatriation comes after the week-long shuttle visit of DFA Migration Affairs Undersecretary Eduardo Jose A. de Vega to Myanmar and Thailand for the 206 Filipinos to return home to be with their loved ones in the Philippines," the department said.
