New Zealand wins third successive women's title at Hong Kong Sevens

HONG KONG - New Zealand secured the Hong Kong Sevens title for the third consecutive year, defeating archrivals Australia 26-19 on Sunday at the newly inaugurated Kai Tak Sports Park.

Captain Sarah Hirini expressed immense pride in her team's achievement. "We've won a couple of times here, and to be able to do it again this year is pretty amazing," Hirini said. "We love coming to Hong Kong, and hopefully, it's bigger and better again next year."

In the men's competition, Argentina claimed the title by stunning Olympic champions France 12-7.

China's women's team, competing in the World Series for the first time in six years, finished ninth after defeating Spain 12-7.

In the invitational Melrose Cup, Hong Kong, China dominated both finals. The men's team defeated China 38-5, while the women's team routed Kazakhstan 45-5.
