PARIS - The French Ministry of Foreign Trade on Saturday said that US interference in the diversity programs of French companies is "unacceptable," French media reported.

Some major French companies operating in the United States have recently received a letter and questionnaire from the Trump administration inquiring about the existence of such programs.

The letter warned that implementing these programs could prevent them from doing business with the US government.

The French Ministry of Foreign Trade highlighted that France and Europe will stand firm in "defending their companies, their consumers, and also their values."
