BUENOS AIRES - China's 20-year-old Sun Yujie had a perfect World Cup debut, winning the gold medal in the 25m pistol event here on Saturday.
Sun's only previous international appearance was in last year's junior world championships in Lima, Peru. Competing in her first World Cup, she narrowly edged into the final with 578 points in the qualification.

In the final, the young shooter had a strong start, taking an early lead and never looking back, winning the gold medal with a score of 38. Esha Singh of India, also 20, collected the silver with 35 hits and China's world champion Feng Sixuan bagged a bronze.
Both skeet golds went to American shooters, with Dania Vizzi and Christian Elliott claiming the women's and men's titles, respectively.
The women's competition saw a one-two finish for Team USA, as Vizzi edged four-time Olympic champion Kimberly Rhode through a shoot-off after both stood at 55 hits. 23-year-old Arina Kuznetsova, almost half of Rhode's age, bagged the bronze.

Later on Saturday, Elliott made 58 hits to beat the Italian two-time Olympic champion Gabriele Rossetti by two shots. Rossetti and his teammate Elia Sdruccioli took the silver and bronze, respectively.
Competition continues on Sunday with the men's 10m air rifle title to be vied for.
