Kazakhstan, UK discuss energy and water cooperation in Central Asia

ALMATY - Kazakh Energy Minister Yerlan Akkenzhenov met with British Ambassador to Kazakhstan Kathy Leach on Monday to discuss key areas of bilateral cooperation and shared priorities in the energy sector, according to the Kazakh government's press service.

During the meeting, the parties focused on issues related to the development of energy infrastructure and a sustainable energy transition in line with global climate goals. Special attention was given to the reliability of energy resource supplies and regional cooperation.

Akkenzhenov noted that Kazakhstan and the UK have strong potential for joint work in green technologies and investments, which would benefit both nations.

The two sides further discussed the importance of regional cooperation on water and energy programs to support sustainable development in Central Asia.
