BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed mixed on Thursday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.13 percent to 3,280.34 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.16 percent lower at 9,759.05 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at about 999.5 billion yuan (about $138.6 billion), down from 1.11 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to ethylene oxide and dyestuff were among the biggest winners, while those related to precious metals and cross-border payment emerged as the biggest losers.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.09 percent to close at 1,908.78 points Thursday.
