HONG KONG - The Hong Kong government said Thursday that a staff member at the Central Government Offices (CGO) has tested negative for the novel coronavirus.
In a press release issued late Thursday night, a government spokesman said that a CGO staff had been admitted to hospital after being suspected of contracting the virus. The spokesman said test results have confirmed that the staff was not infected with the virus.

The government has stepped up disinfection work at CGO premises in accordance with the guidelines and advice from the Centre for Health Protection, the spokesman said, adding that the government will continue to take appropriate precautionary measures at CGO to minimize the risk of the spread of the virus.
