BERLIN - Bundesliga side Leverkusen have renewed their contract with Brazilian defender Wendell by one year until 2022.

The Brazilian footballer was born in 1993 and his deal was due to finish at the end of next season.

"Wendell has developed into an essential factor in our squad in his six years at Leverkusen," said sport director Simon Rolfes.
