HONG KONG – Hong Kong reported seven new confirmed COVID-19 cases on Sunday, bringing the city tally to 5,330.
In a media briefing on Sunday afternoon, Chuang Shuk-kwan, head of the communicable disease branch of the Centre for Health Protection, said the new infections included six imported cases and one local case of unknown origin.

Chuang said the imported cases were from Indonesia, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and Dubai. The local cases involved a woman from the mainland who was staying illegally in Hong Kong.

She was arrested in a police operation and taken to the Mong Kok police station before she tested positive. Those who were in close contact with her at the police station, and later, at the Castle Peak Bay Immigration Centre and the Ma Tau Kok Detention Centre would be sent to a quarantine center, Chuang said.
She added that the police were still investigating which places in Hong Kong the woman visited.
Chuang also said that there were three persons who tested preliminary positive, including a 26-year-old woman who worked in Wong Chuk Hang.
The woman and seven of her friends stayed at a beach resort in Mui Wo from October 25 to 27. One of her friends and one of her relatives, a 15-year-old male student, tested preliminary positive, Chuang said.

She added that the student went to school on Oct 30 and so his school would now be closed for 14 days while specimen bottles would be distributed to its staff and students.
According to the Hospital Authority, there were 93 confirmed COVID-19 patients being treated at 19 Hong Kong hospitals as of Sunday, including nine patients in critical condition and five in serious condition.
