ZHUJI, China - Darius Adams scored 49 points as Qingdao Eagles overcame Nanjing Monkey Kings 118-104 for their third consecutive win in the 2020-21 Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) here on Tuesday, while Jonathan Gibson's clutch shot helped Beijing Ducks rally past Zhejiang Lions 101-99.

Elsewhere, Sichuan Blue Whales beat Shanxi Loongs 108-103, as Hamed Haddadi contributed a triple-double with 32 points, 17 rebounds and 13 assists

In the game against Qingdao, Xiralijan Muhtar hit back-to-back 3-pointers in the first quarter to give Nanjing a 25-22 lead. Qingdao kept it close all the way, while their outside shooters got hot, outscoring their opponents on a 16-2 run midway through the second period.

"We didn't play well in the first half. We have to figure this out or the same thing will happen again," said Qingdao coach Wu Qinglong.

Nanjing was in touching distance in the third quarter, before Liu Chuanxing made a three-point play that put Qingdao up 106-95 in the final period, and Adams was unstoppable down the final stretch.

Arnett Moultrie scored 36 points while Xiralijan got 27, including seven 3-pointers, in the loss.

Facing a struggling Beijing, Zhejiang led by double digits most of the first half, taking an early lead, but it was only a narrow 60-54 at the halftime break.

In the second half, Beijing tied it up on Justin Hamilton's buzzer beater and Fan Ziming added a layup to lead 83-81.

Sun Minghui tied it at 99 for Zhejiang by hitting a 3-pointer with 1.3 seconds remaining before Gibson scored a fade away shot to help Beijing edge Zhejiang.

Fang Shuo had 30 points for Beijing while Sun got 33 points and 13 assists for Zhejiang.
